Richard P O Jones is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biomedical and Forensic Sciences, Anglia Ruskin University, where he has worked since 2013. His academic career spans institutions including Yale University, University of Leeds, University of Manchester, and University of York.

Dr. Jones specializes in biochemical and biophysical studies of extracellular matrix and membrane proteins linked to human diseases. His work includes structural analysis of retinoschisin in X-linked retinoschisis, fibulin 5 mutations in macular degeneration, and bacterial surface proteins involved in antibiotic resistance.
Additional interests span bioinformatics, protein folding, and translational research in biomedical science, including studies on cardiac infection, cancer biomarkers, and blood donation behavior.
