Rebecca Jones is a Senior Lecturer Practitioner and Deputy Head of School in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). She holds dual affiliations with the Life Sciences department and the Forensic & Investigative Sciences Research Group. Her career spans 15 years as a Crime Scene Investigator across two police forces, combined with academic roles including Course Leader for Crime and Investigative Studies.

Research Focus: Specializes in crime scene methodologies (DNA techniques, bloodstain pattern analysis), CSI wellbeing, forensic innovation, and service canine legislation. Active in national initiatives like the Forensic Capability Network's wellbeing toolkit development and cold case DNA reviews with Northumbria Police.
Recent Contributions: Led a pedagogic project creating a crime scene training mobile app adopted nationally by police forces and universities. Presented at EAFS 2012/2015 and FCN Research Festival 2021. Co-authored research on fiber evidence screening systems.
