Dr Richard Meek is a Lecturer and Programme Director for the MA in English at the University of Hull's School of Arts and Humanities. His academic work focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to literature and culture.

Research Interests: Shakespeare and early modern literature, ekphrasis (visual-verbal representation relationships), history of emotion, and proverbial language studies. His work integrates cultural analysis with literary theory.
Selected Publications: Recent monograph on sympathy representation (2023) and co-edited volumes on ekphrastic studies (2019). Research spans literary analysis, art history, and emotional communities.
