Richard McClatchey

Richard McClatchey is the Chair of Applied Computer Science at the University of the West of England (UWE), affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FET), and holds professional certifications as Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Chartered IT Professional (CITP).

• BSc (Hons) in Physics
• PhD in Physics
• DPhil in Computer Science

With over 30 years of research experience, McClatchey specializes in large-scale distributed data and process management, databases, and their applications in medical domains. His expertise also spans cloud and grid computing, data and knowledge management, systems analysis, and project management.
