Professor Iain Phillips is a Professor of Computer Science at Loughborough University with over 30 years of service, currently serving as Director of Academic Staffing in the School of Science. He previously held leadership roles as Head of Computer Science (2008-2011) and Acting Head (2016-2018, 2022-2023).
His educational background includes a BSc in Computing and Information Systems and a PhD in Computer Science from Manchester University. Research focuses on:
- Computer networking and high performance computing
- Network architecture, protocols, and algorithms
- Internet and Wireless Sensor Networks
