Richard Jozsa

Richard Jozsa is the Leigh Trapnell Professor of Quantum Physics at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), University of Cambridge (since April 2010). He previously held professorial roles at the University of Bristol (1999-2010), University of Plymouth (1997-1999), and academic positions at institutions including the University of Montreal, University of Oxford, Victoria University of Technology (RMIT), Flinders University, University of New South Wales, and McGill University.

• Education: D.Phil. in Mathematics (Oxford, 1981; Supervisor: Roger Penrose), M.Sc. in Mathematics (Oxford, 1976), B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics (Monash University, 1974).

His research focuses on quantum computing, quantum complexity theory, and quantum information theory, with cross-disciplinary collaborations in computer science, mathematics, and physics. He founded the Bristol Quantum Computing and Quantum Information Research Group in 1999 and moved to DAMTP Cambridge in 2010 to lead the Centre for Quantum Information and Foundations.
