Dr. Richard Heath is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC), where he has been a faculty member since 1996. He is renowned for directing Pathways, a structured support program for students with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders, which he led from 1999 to 2020. His clinical expertise includes the assessment of adolescents and adults with learning challenges, and he has served as an expert witness in legal cases such as Bartlett v. New York State Board of Law Examiners.
Teaching interests include Psychology of Harry Potter, Personality Theories, Psychological Testing, and Adolescent Psychology, with a focus on mentoring students through independent studies. Dr. Heath holds a B.A. from Alvernia College and M.A./Ph.D. from Fordham University, and maintains affiliations with professional organizations like the American Psychological Association and Society for Personality Assessment.
His research and clinical work emphasize learning disabilities assessment, psychological testing, and personality theories. Dr. Heath also integrates pop culture into pedagogy, notably through courses on the Psychology of Harry Potter and Literature.
