Katrijn Van Parijs is a lecturer and researcher at Thomas More University College, affiliated with the People and Well-being Research Group. She teaches courses in Applied Psychology, including Practical School and Educational Psychology, Psychosocial Assistance to Persons with Disabilities, and Rehabilitation Psychology. Her research focuses on diagnostics, test psychology, and neuropsychology, particularly using the CHC model for cognitive ability assessments. She leads the COVAT project, developing Dutch-language cognitive tests for diverse populations. Additionally, she serves as a point of contact for diagnostics in the Psychodiagnostic Centre (PDC), specializing in cases involving disabilities and neuropsychological challenges.
Her expertise extends to preschoolers, children, and adolescents with disabilities, and she actively participates in training programs translating diagnostic insights into practical advice. She is a member of the Netoverstijgend Forum Diagnostiek (CLB), contributing to advancements in diagnostic methodologies. Her work bridges academic research with real-world applications, emphasizing participatory approaches for individuals facing communicative, cognitive, or developmental challenges.
