Richard Griffin is a Visiting Professor of Healthcare Management at King's Business School, King's College London, where he joined in September 2017. An economist with over thirty years of experience in NHS and social care workforce research, he advises major health organizations including Health Education England and the North West London Integrated Care System. He holds directorships at Birthrate Plus and serves on multiple NHS workforce committees.
His research focuses on healthcare systems optimization, including workforce planning, job design, and skills policy. Key areas include maternity support workers, widening participation in healthcare education, apprenticeships, and clinical support roles in mental health and radiography. His 2014 book on training evaluation and forthcoming 2022 Routledge publication on NHS support workers demonstrate policy impact.

He leads policy initiatives through advisory roles with The Cavendish Review and integrated care systems, focusing on economic regeneration and inclusive growth strategies. No PhD students are currently accepted.
