Richard G. Kronick

Richard G. Kronick is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego. He is a nationally recognized specialist in health care policy with a Ph.D. in Health Policy from the University of Rochester. His career spans academia, government, and health policy reform.

His research interests focus on health care policy, public policy, and the intersection of law and politics. He has also explored racial and ethnic politics, as well as the role of social media in political action. Kronick's work has been published in leading journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Throughout his career, Kronick has held influential positions in health policy. From 1993-1994, he served as a Senior Health Care Policy Advisor in the Clinton Administration, contributing to health care reform proposals. He has also worked as Director of Policy and Reimbursement in the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare and Assistant Director in the Massachusetts Office of Health Policy. Since January 2010, he has been Deputy for Health Policy to the Assistant Secretary for Policy and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
