Richard Fox

Richard Fox is a Professor of Political Science and Dean of the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts (BCLA) at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) since 2007. His expertise spans political ambition, electoral behavior, gender politics, and the impact of digital platforms on political engagement.

• Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. from UC Santa Barbara and Claremont McKenna College

His research explores systemic barriers to women in politics, social media’s role in voter mobilization, and public health policy effectiveness. Funded by the National Science Foundation, he authored 9 books, over 25 peer-reviewed articles, and a 2023 textbook American Politics: A Field Guide emphasizing citizen engagement.
