Richard D. Press is a Clinical Professor and Medical Director of Molecular Pathology and the Molecular Diagnostics Center at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. He also serves as Program Director for the Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship. His research focuses on molecular diagnostic biomarkers in cancer and infectious diseases, as well as genetic alterations in common diseases. Dr. Press holds an M.D. and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University (1988), with residency training in Pathology and a fellowship in Molecular Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in Clinical Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology.

Publications Overview: His work spans molecular characterization of leukemia subtypes, validation of diagnostic assays, and clinical applications of next-generation sequencing (NGS). Recent studies investigate NUP98-rearranged AML, T-lineage childhood leukemia, and resistance mechanisms in chronic myeloid leukemia.
