Richard Bent

Richard Bent is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader at Queen Margaret Business School. With 22+ journal publications, he researches SME operations, family businesses, retail dynamics, and consumer issues. He regularly contributes expert commentary to BBC Radio Scotland on retail and consumer topics.

His consultancy work through innovation projects bridges academic theory with practical business applications. Richard has extensive experience leading validation panels for undergraduate and postgraduate programs and serves as a Trustee for the Teapot Trust, a Scottish art therapy charity.

Affiliations include the Higher Education Academy and the Family and Smaller Enterprises (FASE) research group.
