Prof. Richard Bayford is Professor of Biophysics & Engineering at Middlesex University's Faculty of Science and Technology, where he leads the Biophysics group. He specializes in biomedical imaging, electrical impedance tomography (EIT), bio-modelling, and nanotechnology for applications in deep brain stimulation and neonatal lung monitoring.
Research Focus: Development of EIT algorithms, nanoparticle tracking, low-power medical devices, and biosensors. He collaborates globally and has secured significant funding, including EU Horizon 2020 grants.
Teaching: Modules include BMS4177 and biomedical engineering courses.
Students: Supervises doctoral candidates in biophysics and engineering.
