Ricardo Flores is an Associate Professor of Percussion at the School of Music, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he has been teaching since 2000. He specializes in drum set and Latin percussion, directing the Steel Band/World Percussion Ensemble.

Flores is a versatile performer with extensive experience in orchestral, chamber, jazz, pop, and Latin musical settings. He has collaborated with renowned artists like Luciano Pavarotti, Aretha Franklin, and Alex Acuña, and performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and international percussion festivals in Poland, China, and Argentina.
His academic and professional activities include leadership roles in the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), where he served as Illinois Chapter President, contributed to the PAS Drum Set Committee for 15 years, and currently sits on the PAS World Percussion Committee.
