Rhiannon Alpers is an Adjunct Professor in the Printmedia Program at California College of the Arts (CCA). She specializes in artist books, printmaking, and handmade paper, with a focus on sculptural elements and nature-inspired themes. Her work explores the intersection of art, science, and the natural world, often incorporating native plants and ecological themes.
Alpers is the founder of Gazelle and Goat Press, producing limited-edition artist books and collaborating with institutions like the Linda Hall Library. Her exhibitions include solo and group shows across galleries in Colorado, such as the Arvada Center, Blue Sage Center for the Arts, and Spark Gallery. Notable works include Lichen: Rambles in the Colorado Front Range and Mutualistic Musings, which highlight her interest in natural history and women naturalists.
Her professional activities include teaching workshops, curating exhibitions, and contributing to initiatives like the Colorado Paper Collective. She has been recognized as an MCBA Prize 2024 Semi-Finalist and has been featured in venues such as the Biennial of the Americas and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Guild of Bookworkers.
