Reza Ghodssi is the Herbert Rabin Distinguished Chair in Engineering at the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering. He leads the MEMS Sensors and Actuators Lab (MSAL) and holds affiliations with multiple departments, including Bioengineering and Materials Science. His research focuses on micro/nano/bio devices for healthcare applications, such as ingestible sensors, energy harvesting, and bacterial biofilm treatment. Ghodssi has served as Director of the Institute for Systems Research (2009–2017) and co-founded the Brain and Behavior Initiative. He is an IEEE, AVS, and ASME Fellow, with over 500 publications and 17 patents.
