Dr. Reza Baserinia is a Lecturer in Engineering Design and Deputy Director of Education at the University of Leicester's School of Engineering (since April 2024). He oversees accreditation strategy, curriculum planning, student progression, and educational initiatives. Previously, he served as Senior Lecturer and Programme Director for Mechanical Engineering at De Montfort University for seven years, leading curriculum development and teaching core modules like CAD/FEA and Machines & Mechanisms.
His research focuses on additive manufacturing, powder flow characterization, and pharmaceutical processing, with notable contributions to understanding powder behavior in manufacturing and pharmaceutical contexts. He has supervised numerous students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
Dr. Baserinia holds a PhD (2016) and MSc (2011) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leicester, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His work bridges experimental validation, numerical modeling, and industrial applications.
