Reva Johnson, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering at Valparaiso University's College of Engineering. She holds a B.S. from Valparaiso University and M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University. Her research focuses on human-machine interfaces, prosthesis design, and rehabilitation engineering, with an emphasis on improving adaptive motor control and haptic feedback systems for prosthetic users. She has collaborated with Valpo's athletic programs to study fatigue and recovery in athletes using wearable sensor data, leading to personalized training plans. Johnson has advised students on innovative projects, such as a haptic video game for rehabilitation therapy. She is affiliated with the American Society of Engineering Education and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
