Dr. Reuben Larbi is a Research Fellow affiliated with Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine (FHM) and currently on secondment at Blackpool Council under the NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC). His work focuses on enabling local authorities to adopt evidence-based decision-making through research and evaluation. He holds a PhD in Population Studies from the University of Ghana and completed a Research Fellowship at Yale University.
His research emphasizes socio-ecological determinants of health in low-income urban settings, combining qualitative/quantitative methods with spatial analysis. Notable projects include the RECIRCULATE/ACTUATE initiatives addressing African water-sanitation challenges and the Concrete Impacts study on US military environmental footprints in Iraq.
Dr. Larbi's career bridges biomedical engineering, population studies, and interdisciplinary research. His current HDRC role aims to enhance local authority research capacity while addressing climate vulnerabilities and socio-economic inequities.
