Renée van Limpt is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education, working within the Plasma & Materials Processing research group. She completed her PhD at TU/e in 2025 with thesis research on atomic layer deposition of nickel cobalt oxides for electrocatalysis applications.
Her research spans material science and electrochemistry with core focus areas:
- Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) for precision thin-film synthesis
- Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysis
- Nickel-cobalt oxide material systems
- Epitaxial growth mechanisms and heterostructure design
Analysis of her 2023-2025 publications reveals consistent investigation of stoichiometry, thickness, and interfacial effects in ALD-grown nickel cobalt oxides. Her work demonstrates how atomic-scale control enhances OER performance through optimized electronic structure and surface reactivity, directly contributing to renewable hydrogen production technologies.
Dr. van Limpt actively collaborates within TU/e's Plasma & Materials Processing ecosystem, working with prominent researchers like M. Creatore and M.A. Verheijen on advancing plasma-enhanced deposition techniques for energy materials. Her research has received media coverage (May 2023) and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy).
