Renuka Mehta is a Professor at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, with dual appointments in the Department of Pediatrics: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Infectious Diseases. She is actively involved in clinical care, medical education, and research, with a strong commitment to resident training and patient safety.
Research Interests: Her work spans pediatric critical care, infectious diseases, healthcare simulation, medical education, and the impact of social determinants on health outcomes. She has led initiatives in just-in-time simulation training and clinical competency assessment for pediatric procedures.
The recent publications reflect a focus on rare infections like Naegleria fowleri, asthma management, simulation-based training, and population health trends related to cardiovascular and opioid-related mortality. Her scholarly work emphasizes practical interventions in clinical education and public health.
