Dr. Renu Narchal is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Western Sydney University and member of the Translational Health Research Institute (THRI), with over 15 years of prior academic experience at the University of Delhi's Lady Sri Ram and Daulat Ram Colleges. Her expertise bridges developmental psychology and migration studies, focusing on settlement challenges through an attachment theory lens.

Research Focus: Dr. Narchal investigates how life events impact development in migration contexts, specializing in loneliness, ethnic discrimination, psychological distress, and language barriers. She pioneered applying Attachment Theory to migratory experiences and currently leads innovative research on children's roles as language brokers in migrant families—a severely understudied area with significant policy implications.
Supervision & Practice: She supervises Masters, Honours, and Post Graduate Diploma research while leveraging clinical experience from Australian Public Service roles in child protection and disability services. Her work uniquely integrates firsthand multicultural family experience with academic rigor, addressing critical gaps in settlement research.
