Renate Klein is an Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Maine’s College of Education and Human Development. Her work focuses on gender-based violence prevention, with an international, interdisciplinary, and practice-oriented approach. She coordinates the European Network on Gender and Violence and co-founded the UK-based Universities against Gender-based Violence network. Dr. Klein has conducted research with organizations like the Penquis Law Project and Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence, and received major grants from institutions including the German Research Foundation and U.S. Department of Justice.
