Her work addresses critical questions in solar physics, including:
- Physical origins of solar cycle variations in oscillations
- Acoustic flux absorption in magnetic regions
- Damping mechanisms of solar oscillations
- Type of MHD waves in the solar atmosphere
- Impact of rotation and stratification on solar waves
She has published extensively in high-impact journals such as The Astrophysical Journal and Space Science Reviews, with recent studies on 3D magnetic null points and spine-fan reconnection models. Her contributions include developing novel analysis procedures for detecting high-frequency MHD waves and modeling forced magnetic reconnection in the solar corona.
Scientific awards include:
- Faculty prize for excellence in postgraduate supervision
She has supervised multiple PhD and MPhil students, including Farhad Allian, Hope Thackray, and Peter Wyper, with projects funded by EPSRC and STFC. Her teaching portfolio includes courses on differential equations, magnetohydrodynamics, and vector mechanics.
