Dr. Reid Fisher, EdD, ATC, LAT, is the MSAT Program Director in the Department of Athletic Training at the University of the Incarnate Word. His academic journey includes teaching at Northeastern University and St. Andrews-Sewanee School before joining UIW. He holds a Doctorate in Learning and Leadership from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
Research focuses on military athletic training integration, healthcare business models, community engagement, and running gait mechanics. Notable contributions include studies on injury prevention in U.S. Air Force basic training and stress fracture cost analysis.
Awards include the 2021 Professional Service Award (Armed Forces Athletic Training Society) and multiple teaching accolades. He has presented at conferences like the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and contributed to over 15 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Fisher coordinates community initiatives, including a $1M park project for New Braunfels schools and bike programs for underserved districts. His certifications include Certified Athletic Trainer and Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer since 2004.
