Regine Slinning is an Assistant Professor at Molde University College, Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Care. She is actively engaged in teaching and research in Psychology, with a focus on quantitative research methods. Her academic background is rooted in developmental neuropsychology, and she is currently finalizing her PhD at the Department of Psychology, NTNU Trondheim, in the Neuroscience Developmental Laboratory (NU-lab).
Research Interests: Her work centers on infant cognitive development, particularly perception of occlusion and neural activity during early visual processing. She employs high-density EEG to study gamma oscillations in infants, contributing to understanding the neural basis of object permanence and visual perception in early life. Her research lies at the intersection of developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging.
The recent publications highlight a consistent focus on neuronal gamma oscillations and visual occlusion in infants, using EEG methodologies. Themes across her work include the development of visual perception, neural correlates of cognition in infancy, and the maturation of cortical processing. Her research trajectory shows a strong emphasis on empirical, data-driven studies in developmental neuroscience.
Collaborations: She frequently collaborates with researchers at NTNU, including Audrey van der Meer and Frederikus van der Weel, as part of a team investigating child and youth mental health and developmental processes.
While no formal awards or student advisement are listed, her growing publication record in journals like Developmental Psychobiology indicates an emerging presence in the field of infant neuropsychology.
