Regina Seiwald is a Teaching Fellow in German and Deputy Director of Languages for All (LfA) at the University of Birmingham. A native German speaker from Tyrol, Austria, she has taught German language and culture at the university since 2014, spanning all proficiency levels, and collaborates with external departments like Law. Her academic journey includes a PhD in English Literature (2018) and multiple MPhil degrees in German Philology, English and American Studies, and General and Applied Linguistics from the University of Innsbruck.

Her research bridges literary theory, narratology, and video game studies, focusing on Anglo-American and Germanic traditions. She explores paratextuality, Cold War narratives, and the cultural implications of gaming. Her 2023 book (Not) In the Game, co-edited with Ed Vollans, examines historical and paratextual dimensions of games. She leads the 2025 module Games, Gamification, and the Player as Consumer for the distance learning MA in Digital Media and Global Communications.
