Regan Bernhard is a Lecturer at Boston College's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, where she directs the Bernhard Lab and teaches courses on judgment and decision-making, neurodevelopment, and research methods. She holds a BA in Psychology and Spanish from Wellesley College and a PhD in Psychology from Harvard University.
Her research investigates social cognition, instrumental harm, and the neural basis of hypothetical thought, with ongoing projects examining helping behaviors, extortion detection, and social decision-making.
Recent publications focus on cognitive neuroscience, exploring neural mechanisms of counterfactual thinking and belief formation using neuroimaging techniques.
Awards include teaching distinctions from Harvard and research awards including the Harvard Brain Science Initiative Young Scientist Transitions Award.
She leads the undergraduate-driven Bernhard Lab and mentors students in research practicums.
