Reed Winegar is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Fordham University, New York City, appointed to a tenure-track position in Fall 2012. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Harvard University (2005) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania (2012), where his dissertation was titled The Fate of Kant's Antinomies. His research focuses on Kant, Early Modern Philosophy, German Idealism, and aesthetics.
Winegar has received numerous fellowships and awards, including the President Gutmann Leadership Award (2011) and Mellon Graduate Research Fellowship (2011-12). His work bridges Kantian antinomies, Humean aesthetics, and Hegelian philosophy. Key publications include analyses of Hume’s aesthetics and Kant-Schiller dialogues.
He has presented at conferences such as the International Kant Colloquium (Mainz, 2011) and the Berkeley Principles Conference (Neuchâtel, 2010). Advising mentors included Paul Guyer (primary), Karen Detlefsen, and Rolf-Peter Horstmann.
