Pavel Reichl is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Groningen. His research focuses on the history of modern philosophy, particularly Kant, Fichte, Hegel, and Heidegger, with an emphasis on metaphysics, philosophical historiography, and the intellectual history of German Idealism. He explores themes such as the critique of metaphysical systems, the evolution of philosophical methodology, and the intersection of theology and rationality in Enlightenment thought.
Reichl’s work bridges historical analysis and conceptual inquiry, addressing topics like the Berlin Academy’s prize questions, Kant’s engagement with Humean skepticism, and the role of first principles in Fichte’s philosophy of history. His scholarship also extends to Latin American philosophy and contemporary debates on aesthetic theory through a Heideggerian lens.
His recent publications highlight trends in reinterpreting classical texts to address modern philosophical challenges, such as the systematicity of metaphysical progress and the philosophical implications of empirical space. He has contributed to edited volumes and peer-reviewed journals, including British Journal for the History of Philosophy and Kantian Review.
