Reed Robinson

Reed Robinson, Ph.D., ABPP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He holds leadership roles as Director of Psychological Services for the Division of Psychology and Clinical Director of the UT Southwestern Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. His clinical practice focuses on time-limited cognitive behavioral treatments for anxiety and depression, with expertise in exposure therapy for anxiety disorders and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. He emphasizes empowering patients with skills to manage life challenges.

Dr. Robinson earned his doctorate in counseling psychology from Iowa State University and completed his clinical psychology internship at the VA North Texas Health Care System. He joined UT Southwestern in 2010 as a full-time faculty member. He is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychology and holds Diplomate status from the American Board of Professional Psychologists.

His research interests include developing treatment programs for treatment-resistant depression, integrating measurement tools into care delivery, and improving clinical outcomes. He also contributes to education by training psychiatry residents in cognitive behavior therapy and teaching graduate courses on evidence-based treatments like Prolonged Exposure and Seeking Safety.

Outside clinical and academic roles, Dr. Robinson provides expert consultation on PTSD and trauma impact, and advises organizations on employee wellness and cultural improvement.
