Dr. Rebekah Tillotson is a Chancellor’s Fellow and Group Leader at the University of Edinburgh's Institute of Genetics and Cancer. Her research focuses on chromatinopathies, particularly ATR-X syndrome, to understand how chromatin factors regulate gene expression and contribute to neurological disorders.
- Primary Affiliation: Institute of Genetics and Cancer, University of Edinburgh
- Research Focus: Chromatin remodeling, DNA damage repair, and rare neurodevelopmental diseases
Key research themes include:
- Mechanistic understanding of chromatinopathies
- Mouse models of ATR-X syndrome
- Neurological function and rare disease mechanisms
- Shared molecular pathways in chromatin disorders
Her work spans genetics, neuroscience, and molecular biology, with a strong emphasis on translational approaches for rare diseases. Scientific awards include the Chancellor’s Fellowship (2024-2029). Current students include MScR and PhD rotation students.
