Rebekah Smith

Rebekah Smith is a Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Psychology at the University of Mississippi. She completed her PhD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1999) and postdoctoral training at Georgia Tech and UNC Chapel Hill.

• Research Interests:
  • Prospective memory (remembering to perform future actions)
  • False memory mechanisms and correction strategies
  • Distinctive processing effects on memory in young and older adults
  • Application of multinomial models to memory research

Her work has been funded by the NIH National Institute on Aging, NIH National Institute of Mental Health, and the Australian National Research Council. She currently reviews applications for the Experimental Ph.D. program in Psychology.
