Don Skinner is an Instructional Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Mississippi, affiliated with the Department of Psychology within the College of Liberal Arts. He holds a B.A. from North Carolina State University (2015), an M.A. from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (2017), and a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi (2022). His research focuses on memory processes across the lifespan, particularly in younger and older adults, exploring how factors like meaningfulness, prior knowledge, and cognitive aging influence memory performance. He teaches undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Cognitive Psychology. His work also examines metamemory and prospective memory, with recent contributions to understanding age-related differences in memory strategies.
