Rebecca Zahn is a Professor in the Department of Law at the University of Strathclyde. Her research focuses on European, national, and comparative labour law, with a particular emphasis on historical studies exploring the development of labour laws and transnational legal ideas. She holds roles as Book Review Editor for the Industrial Law Journal and member of the Research Committee at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. Zahn coordinates the EUFutures research network (2022-2025), funded by UACES and the John Madison Charitable Trust.
Her research interests include legal intellectual history, worker representation, and transnational legal exchanges. Recent projects include a Leverhulme Fellowship (2021) analyzing debates on worker board representation in mid-20th century German and British intellectual circles. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through her work.
Zahn has secured funding for projects such as 'The History of Law and Labour in Scotland' (2024-2025) and co-organizes interdisciplinary conferences like 'Founders and Shapers of Labour Law' (2024). She actively participates in professional activities, including journal peer reviews and workshops, and serves on the Human Rights Consortium Scotland.
