Dr. Rebecca Wright is the Druckenmiller Professor and Chair of Computer Science at Barnard College, and Director of the Vagelos Computational Science Center. Her research focuses on privacy and security, including cryptographic protocols and fault-tolerant distributed computing. She holds a Ph.D. from Yale University and a B.A. from Columbia University. An IEEE Fellow and ACM Distinguished Member, she leads initiatives to increase diversity in computing through programs like the Computing Fellows. Wright chairs NSF-funded projects on complexity theory and cybersecurity collaboration, and serves on advisory boards for organizations like the Simons Foundation and Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC). Her work bridges technical innovation with policy, emphasizing privacy in networked systems and educational equity.
