Dr. Rebecca Umland is a Professor at the Department of English, University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her research focuses on Arthurian Studies, World & 19th Century British Literature, and Film Studies. She has received multiple awards, including the Martin Distinguished Professor of English and the Pratt-Heins Distinguished Research Award.

Her research explores the intersections of medieval narratives with modern media, particularly through cinematic adaptations of Arthurian legends and Victorian literature. She has published extensively on topics connecting literary traditions to contemporary cultural forms.
