Rebecca Totaro

Rebecca Totaro is an Associate Dean of Curriculum and Assessment and Professor of English at Florida Gulf Coast University's College of Arts & Sciences. She specializes in early modern literature, plague studies, and cultural history. Her research includes works on plague narratives, Shakespeare, and meteorology's role in early modern culture. She has authored five books, including Meteorology and Physiology in Early Modern Culture (2020) and The Plague Epic in Early Modern England (2017). Totaro serves as a book series editor for Kent State University Press and has held a fellowship at the Folger Shakespeare Library. She has lectured internationally on plague-related topics, including at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
