معرفی
Rebecca Starble is a Research Fellow in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine. She completed her B.A. in Biology at Vassar College (2017) and her Ph.D. in Genetics at Yale University (2024) under Andrew Xiao. Her research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms of cancer progression, oncogene amplification, and structural variants like extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA). She is affiliated with the Yan Lab and aims to develop therapeutic strategies targeting these mechanisms.
Education:
- B.A., Biology, Vassar College (2017)
- Ph.D., Genetics, Yale University (2024)
Research Interests: Starble investigates how oncogene amplification via structural variations (e.g., ecDNA) drives cancer progression. She employs imaging, genomics, and proteomics to identify novel therapeutic targets. Her work emphasizes translating mechanistic insights into clinical applications.
Awards:
- YSM Science Fellows Program (2024)
- Carolyn Slayman Prize in Genetics (2024)
- National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (2020)
Advising & Outreach: While no formal advisees are listed, Starble has led STEM outreach programs like the BioScience Club to engage high school students. She advocates for reducing systemic barriers in academia through mentorship and community partnerships.
Labs/Teams: Primary affiliation with the Yan Lab and collaborations within Yale Pathology’s tumor biology research groups.
