Rebecca Rochon

Rebecca Rochon is an Associate Professor at Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), where she has been since 2008. Her academic journey includes teaching roles in Canada and the UK, as well as research at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. She holds a Master’s in Education from the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on professional education, emphasizing inclusivity, digital pedagogies, mental health and wellbeing, and organizational change through professional development.

Rochon is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and contributes to local education governance as a school governor. She has collaborated with organizations like Astra on mentorship programs and the Royal College of Nursing on digital wound care education. A notable achievement is her role in helping over 100 BNU staff gain professional accreditation from Advance HE.

Her teaching roles include leading the MA Education (Full Time/Part Time), MA Positive Education, and MA Practice Education programs. She also oversees the PGCert Practice Education course. Her research projects, such as the Reflecta Project on mobile technology for professional development, highlight her commitment to integrating technology and wellbeing in education.

Rochon’s work spans interdisciplinary collaboration, assessment innovation, and social inclusion in higher education. Her articles explore topics ranging from digital tools for mental health to equity for marginalized groups in academia. She actively uses social media and live brief projects to enhance student and staff engagement.
