Dr. Rebecca Ogden is Lecturer in Modern Languages, Media and Culture studies at the University of Sheffield. Specializing in Mexico and Cuba, her research examines reproductive politics, tourism, and nation branding in Latin America. Her AHRC-funded project (2023-2025) investigates adolescent sexual health in Mexico, Cuba and Colombia.
Research encompasses:
- Cultural representations of childbirth and midwifery
- Tourism's impact on cultural identity
- Digital media in health communication
She coordinates the 'Cuerpa Politica' podcast on reproductive politics and co-edited 'Branding Latin America: Strategies, Aims, Resistance' (2018). Previously taught at University of Kent and institutions in Mexico/Argentina.
