Rebecca Noreen serves as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Connecticut College, where she has been teaching since 1999. She specializes in bassoon instruction and performance within the Department of Music.
Ms. Noreen earned her B.A. and B.E. from Western Washington University and her Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music. Her educational background has provided a strong foundation for her dual career as both an educator and professional performer.
As a specialist in bassoon performance, Ms. Noreen focuses on classical woodwind repertoire, chamber music, and orchestral performance. Her expertise spans both historical and contemporary works for the bassoon, with particular attention to double reed ensemble performance.

Ms. Noreen maintains an active performance schedule while teaching bassoon at Connecticut College and Calvary Music School. She previously taught at the University of Rhode Island and Hartt Community Division. Her professional network includes collaborations with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the Northeast region.
Ms. Noreen performs with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Connecticut Symphony, Connecticut Virtuosi Orchestra, Waterbury Symphony, Connecticut Concert Opera, and the Rhode Island Philharmonic. She is also active in chamber music through the Connecticut Reed Trio and Laurel Double Reed Ensemble.
