Rebecca Lennox is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (College of Arts and Sciences). Her research employs ethnographic methods to analyze intersections of race, social class, and gender in shaping women’s vulnerability to violent stranger crime, their attitudes toward criminal justice systems, and emotional responses to victimization threats.
- Education: Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Toronto
Her work explores public safety strategies, racial/class patterns in women’s responses to police-produced safety tips, and systemic gendered inequality in family court systems. Articles from 2017-2024 span feminist ethnography, gendered safety norms, legal system critiques, and methodological innovations in street harassment research. She has published on media influences on adulting subjectivities and undergraduate scientific literature engagement.
