Kate Fox is a Professor in the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Arizona State University (ASU), affiliated with the Office of Gender-Based Violence. She directs the Research on Violent Victimization Lab and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida (2009). Previously, she served at Sam Houston State University's College of Criminal Justice from 2009 to 2012.
Her research focuses on crime victimization, particularly among underserved populations and Indigenous peoples. Key areas include violent victimization, stalking, family violence, and female genital mutilation (FGM), with an emphasis on victim needs and program effectiveness. Recent work examines missing and murdered Indigenous peoples (MMIP), cyberstalking, and policy responses to gender-based violence.
Notable contributions include studies on Indigenous victimization in U.S. colleges, systemic analysis of MMIP data, and evaluations of healthcare interventions for intimate partner violence. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges criminology, public health, and policy analysis.
