Dr. Rebecca L. Mauldin is an Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Arlington's School of Social Work. She specializes in social connectedness, social network analysis, and gerontology, focusing on older adults' relationships and health. Her work emphasizes using technology to address aging-related challenges and promoting equity in healthcare access. Mauldin holds a PhD in Social Work from the University of Houston and has extensive experience in research grants and community engagement.
Education: PhD, MSW from University of Houston; BA in Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill. Research focuses on assisted living communities, social isolation, and transportation disparities among older immigrants. Awards include the 2025 Mather Institute Gold Award and UTA’s 2022 Excellence in Teaching award.
Her 15 most recent articles (2021–2025) explore nature-based interventions, transportation barriers, and social network dynamics in aging populations. Grants include federal and foundation funding for projects like RASCALs (nature-focused group activities) and transportation studies among Vietnamese immigrants.
