Dr. Rebecca Evans is an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations at Ursinus College. Her academic journey includes a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Purdue University, followed by a Ph.D. from Harvard University where she focused on Latin American politics. Her research emphasizes human rights policy, women's political leadership in Latin America, and innovative pedagogical methods in political science education. She has conducted field research in Germany as a Fulbright Fellow and has published extensively on topics ranging from torture ethics to feminist theory in international relations.
Teaching interests include European Politics, Global Health, and War & Peace studies, with a particular focus on integrating active learning strategies. Her notable projects include developing classroom simulations and exploring intersections between feminist theory and pop culture through works like 'Feminist Zombie Hunters.' She actively mentors students, as evidenced by leading groups to present research at the Northeastern Political Science Association Annual Conference.
