معرفی
Dr. Rebecca Dearman is a Lecturer and Independent Research Fellow in Toxicology within the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Manchester. Her work bridges immunology, allergy, and toxicology, focusing on mechanisms of allergic responses to chemicals and proteins. She previously held roles at ICI Central Toxicology Laboratory, advancing from Post Doc to Head of Immunology before transitioning to academia in 2007. Key roles include editorial board memberships for Food and Chemical Toxicology, Toxicological Sciences, and Biomarkers, and membership in the UK Department of Health's Committee on Toxicity.
Education: BSc Biochemistry (First Class, Bath University, 1984), PhD in Immunochemistry (University of Southampton, 1988). Research emphasizes immune cell interactions in allergy development, particularly dendritic cells and cytokine environments. Current projects explore glycosylation effects on allergenicity and novel therapeutics for skin inflammation.
Notable achievements include the 2003 Society for Toxicology Young Investigator Award. Her work addresses why certain proteins/chemicals induce allergies, routes of exposure impacts, and allergen identification methods. Over 295 publications span immunotoxicology mechanisms and translational research.
