Rebecca Anweiler is an Assistant Professor in the Fine Art Program at Queen's University, within the Faculty of Arts and Science. She holds an MFA from Concordia University (2000), an M.Ed. from OISE (1994), and a BFA from OCAD University (1997). Her research critically examines cultural norms around gender, sexuality, and ecology through a lens informed by biology and education. She has exhibited widely in Canada and her works are in public collections including the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and the City of Toronto.

Her practice combines painting, video, and installation to interrogate historical biases in science. Recent projects include Animal/Séance (2017) exploring animal telepathy and Passing Through (2017) addressing disability access through motion-blurred landscapes.
She has held teaching roles at Queen's University (15 years), University of Lethbridge, and Concordia University. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at David Kaye Gallery and Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre.
