Raymond Moody is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Connecticut. His research focuses on syndemic approaches to health, particularly examining how intersecting stigmas impact substance use and sexual health behaviors in sexual minority populations. He develops interventions to address vulnerabilities and promote resilience.
He holds a PhD in Health Psychology and Clinical Science from the City University of New York, an MPH in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an MSW from the University of Alabama, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on HIV transmission risk, substance use patterns in LGBTQ+ communities, and mental health disparities. Research frequently employs advanced statistical methods to examine social network influences and minority stress pathways.
